Company changes

Change of director, registered address, members or business activities, capital increase. In Hungary, such changes can only be filed with the registry by a lawyer.

Contracts

Drafting and reviewing contracts with clients, suppliers, landlords and employees — in Hungarian, English or bilingual.

Sale and transfer of shares

Share purchase agreement, members’ resolutions and registration of the new owner.

Property transactions

Checking the property and the land registry extract, sale or lease agreement. The sale agreement is countersigned by a lawyer or a notary.

Company registry extracts, powers of attorney, notarisation and apostille, correspondence with authorities.

Contract review covers up to 5 pages, with brief comments. Drafting and rewriting contracts are charged separately. Unused hours do not carry over to the next month.

All prices are + VAT 27%. Government fees, notary fees and certified translations are paid separately at their rates. Legal services are provided by licensed Hungarian partner lawyers; Hungary Expat coordinates the work and supports you in English.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the company details myself?

No. In Hungary, changes to the company registry are filed electronically through a lawyer. An accountant can update, for example, business activities with the tax authority, but a change of director, address or owner is registered by a lawyer.

How soon must changes be reported?

As a rule, within 30 days of the decision or event. The Court of Registration may impose a fine for late filing.

Do I need a lawyer to buy an apartment?

Yes. To be registered in the land registry, the sale agreement must be countersigned by a lawyer or drawn up by a notary. Usually the buyer chooses the lawyer. We arrange the property check and the translation of the contract.

Do I need to come to Hungary?

Usually not. Many documents can be signed electronically or under a power of attorney. If a notary visit is needed, we will accompany you and interpret.

Do you handle court cases?

Litigation, debt collection and employment disputes are handled by our partner lawyers. We quote the price individually after reviewing the documents.
