For business
We set up your company (Kft.) in Hungary from start to finish: from choosing the legal form and preparing documents to tax numbers and a bank account. We explain everything in English and accompany you in person — including at the bank.

Why Hungary
A Hungarian company gives you access to the entire EU market, a clear tax system and the option to run your business remotely. For owners and managers it can also be a basis for a residence permit.
A flat corporate tax rate — one of the lowest in the European Union. Small companies can choose the KIVA regime (10%), which replaces corporate tax and social contribution tax.
A Hungarian company receives an EU VAT number and can work with clients and partners in every EU country.
Founders and directors can be citizens of any country. No local partner or residency is needed to register.
Registration can be done by power of attorney. You mainly need to come in person to open a bank account.
Your own company can be a basis for a residence permit for the owner or director — see the Business immigration page.
Registration, registered address, accountant, bank and interpreter — no need to look for separate providers.
Business forms
Most entrepreneurs choose a Kft. — a limited liability company. Other forms are needed in special cases; we will help you choose during the consultation.
| Form | Minimum capital | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Kft. (limited liability company) | 3 000 000 Ft | The most popular form for small and medium-sized businesses. Liability is limited to the contribution. |
| Zrt. (private limited company) | 5 000 000 Ft | For companies with several investors and growth plans. |
| Branch (fióktelep) | not required | For a foreign company that wants to operate fully in Hungary under its own name. |
| Representative office | not required | For non-commercial activities only: marketing and partner relations. Sales are not allowed. |
What is included
By law, the registration application is filed by a Hungarian lawyer — we work with trusted partner lawyers and manage the whole process for you.
How it works
We discuss your business and choose the company form, tax regime and business activities under the TEÁOR classification, and sort out the registered address — it is mandatory: a contract with an address provider, an office lease or the owner’s consent for an apartment will do.
We prepare the articles of association and supporting documents. If you are not in Hungary, we arrange a power of attorney — notarised with an apostille, or through a consulate.
The lawyer files the application with the Court of Registration electronically. Once the documents are ready, the company usually receives its registration number within 1–3 working days; by law the court decides within 15 working days.
Together with registration the company receives a tax number (and an EU VAT number if needed). We obtain the director’s tax number and access to the e-government portals.
We accompany you to the bank and interpret at the meeting, and the share capital is paid in. We connect you with an accountant — bookkeeping is required from the company’s first day.
What you will need
Hungarian banks carry out thorough checks on new companies, especially those with non-EU owners, and the final decision is always the bank’s.
That is why we assess your situation before registration and choose a suitable bank in advance — so your company is not left without an account.
Costs and taxes
Mandatory costs of setting up and running a Kft. in 2026 (excluding our services):

| Chamber of Commerce | HUF 5,000 per year | Mandatory contribution for all companies. |

| Accounting | from ~HUF 40,000 per month | Depends on the number of invoices, employees and transactions. |
| Tax | Rate |

| Local business tax (HIPA) | up to 2% — depends on the municipality |
| Employer’s social contribution tax | 13% of salary |
